Pathways to a Healthy Kansas

In September 2016, Live Well Crawford County received a $215,000 grant from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas to establish a "Pathways to a Healthy Kansas" program and distribute funding in seven focus areas. Each is a critical sector that influences how our community members eat, move, or experience their daily lives. Find your "pathway" below to learn how to receive funding.

Community Policy

Work at the community level to improve community design and access to healthy places through Built Environment, Food Policy, or Tobacco Policy.
Picture

Community Well-Being

Residents can establish a community event or mobilize other residents. Grant funds are available to plan, communicate, and market.

Food Retail

Are you a store owner or employee? All food retail locations are eligible, including grocery stores, dollar stores, gas stations, and corner stores.

Restaurants

Do you own a restaurant or work at one, or are you a caterer? You'll receive recognition and promotional support as well as funding for change.

Health care

Primary care health providers and hospitals that implement or enhance campus wellness policies are eligible for funding.

Schools

Once wellness policies are enacted, elementary, middle, and high schools are eligible for up to $10,000.

Worksites

Implement a wellness plan and encourage employee participation in community well-being activities.
